The header graphic shows 6 pictures. From left to right: A mother pushes her baby in a stroller. A lady in a wheelchair takes a book off a library shelf. A lady pulls her luggage up a ramp. A blind man uses a cane down a hallway. A nice stone ramp leading into a public building. And a man walks with a seeing eye dog.

Participating "Measuring Up The North" Communities

Hudson's Hope

  • Seniors Complex: looked at cost of installing an elevator: would be $200,000 so now looking at feasibility of a ramp
  • Library: looking at making the door accessible and the washroom accessible. Last year worked on the entrance way. Have to get the municipality on board
  • Looking at possibly purchasing a portable ramp that businesses etc could use to give them an idea of how it will influence business
  • The new Days Inn is still under construction
